Heating: Earth's heat (the difference between the earth's temperature and the colder temperature of the air) is transferred through the buried pipes into the circulating liquid and then transferred again into the building.

Cooling: During hot weather, the continually circulating fluid in the pipes 'picks up' heat from the building - thus helping to cool it - and transfers it into the earth.

The heat pump, also known as a “ground-source”, is an electrically powered device that uses the natural heat storage ability of the earth and/or the earth’s groundwater to heat and cool your home or business. The heat pump simply moves heat energy form one place to another. The geothermal heat pump removes heat energy stored in the earth and/or the earth’s groundwater and transfers it to the home.

A geothermal heating and cooling system can help you save from 40% up to 70% on your monthly utility bill. Certain models also qualify for the Federal Tax Credit.
